Omniscope Evo licensing - picking the right model for your organisation

Omniscope Evo uses web technology to remove many of the traditional barriers to accessing and sharing data. People can build and explore reports on desktop or mobile devices, collaborate with others and share their findings without everyone needing to install software or exchange project files.

Choosing the right Omniscope plan depends on how your organisation will use it: how many people create content, how many consume it, how many need access at the same time, and how far you want to automate your operations.

Evo Pro: For data preparation, analytics and reporting

Evo Pro is designed for individuals and teams who want to install Omniscope on their own machines or deploy it on a server, working online or offline. It includes the complete data preparation, transformation, analytics and visualisation toolkit.

It is a cost-effective choice for analysts exploring data and producing reports primarily for an internal audience.

Pro introduces the concept of a shared seat, where access is based on the maximum number of concurrent users rather than the total number of registered users.

For example, a Pro 10 licence allows any ten authorised users to access Omniscope at the same time. When all ten seats are occupied, another user must wait until a seat becomes available.

Evo Business: For publishing, audience access and custom integrations

Omniscope Evo Business is typically installed in a central location, such as a cloud server or a physical machine managed by the organisation. Multiple users can access its data management tools, collaborate on projects or explore published reports through their browsers.

For this type of installation, it is important to understand expected peak usage, as this helps determine whether Business or Enterprise will provide the most appropriate licensing model.

Business adds support for named seats, allowing access to be assigned to specific users, as well as separate licensing for Editors and Report Viewers.

Report Viewers

The Business plan allows you to define Report Viewers and share interactive reports with a broader or external audience.

A Report Viewer can explore and interact with published dashboards without receiving permission to edit the underlying data, workflows or reports.

In addition to Editor seats, you can specify how many Report Viewers require concurrent access to reports hosted on your Omniscope installation.

Editors versus Viewers

With a Business licence, Omniscope distinguishes between Editors and Viewers and counts seats separately for each user type.

A user who only consumes published reports -- and does not have permission to edit reports, modify data or refresh project data -- counts as a Viewer. Users with any editing, authoring or data-management permissions count as Editors.

Note: A Viewer seat is released when the relevant browser tabs are closed, or approximately 15 minutes after the browser stops communicating with the server.

Scheduler App and Automation API add-on

Automation capabilities vary according to your Omniscope plan.

With Pro Automation, the Scheduler app can automatically refresh report data using one worker and one execution queue.

With Business Automation, the full Scheduler app and Automation API can run complete data and reporting operations. You can execute workflow blocks, chain actions into multi-step processes, schedule or trigger tasks, vary parameters, automate report publishing and data delivery, monitor execution and control tasks from external applications.

Enterprise Automation includes these operational capabilities and adds programmatic project authoring through the Authoring REST APIs and MCP Server.

When an organisation needs unrestricted report publishing, advanced automation, white-label delivery or the complete set of Omniscope capabilities, it is time to consider an Evo Enterprise licence.

Evo Enterprise: Tailored for publishing, automation, AI and scale with priority support

Enterprise is designed for organisations that need to publish analytics to large or external audiences, deliver customer-facing data solutions, automate operations or integrate Omniscope into wider applications and AI systems.

Unlike the other plans, Enterprise is tailored around your audience, infrastructure, branding, AI requirements and development lifecycle. It includes unlimited concurrent Report Viewers, advanced publishing and authoring capabilities, priority support and the option to add the Enterprise packs your deployment requires.

Choose Enterprise when you need to:

• Publish reports without concurrent Viewer licence limits
• Embed analytics within your own product, portal or service
• Deliver personalised, multi-tenant reporting to different clients or teams
• Enable governed self-service through reusable project templates
• Let Viewers save and share their own report explorations

Complete automation and programmatic authoring

Enterprise includes the full Scheduler app and Automation API for running complete operational processes, including data refreshes, workflow execution, report production, batch publishing, exports and data delivery.

Combined with centrally managed bookmarks and parameters, the same automated process can generate different outputs for multiple clients, products, territories or scenarios.

Enterprise also adds Authoring REST APIs and the MCP Server. External applications, development tools and AI agents can query, execute, create and modify governed Omniscope projects programmatically. The workflows, reports and project components they produce remain inspectable, editable and reusable.

Configure the right Enterprise package

Depending on your use case we will help you configure your Enterprise package so it fits your needs. Most importantly:

• AI Features Pack: Add Workflow Ninja, Report Ninja, AI Blocks and Insight Explorer. Configure your preferred cloud, local or OpenAI-compatible models for natural-language analysis and authoring inside Omniscope. External AI agents can also use Omniscope through MCP and APIs. • Scale Pack: Run multiple Omniscope instances as a cluster for horizontal scaling, load balancing, failover and high availability, including Docker-based deployments. Enterprise can also use an external SQL data engine for very large datasets and demanding query workloads.
• White-labelling: Build branded and embedded analytics solutions with your own identity, removing Visokio and Omniscope references. Branding can be configured by folder so different clients see their own landing pages, reports and dashboards.
• Sandbox licence: Use a separate non-production installation for development, integration testing, security validation, user acceptance testing and release preparation.

Note: Automation is also available as an add-on for Pro and Business, but the capabilities depend on the plan. Pro supports scheduled report refreshes, Business unlocks full operational orchestration, and Enterprise adds programmatic project authoring through REST APIs and MCP.

Separating authoring from report delivery

A central Omniscope server makes browser-based collaboration and report access simple, but authors and viewers may compete for the same computing resources during demanding data or analytical operations.

Larger deployments can separate these workloads. Report creators work in an authoring environment, while a dedicated production installation hosts approved reports for viewers. Finalised projects can be promoted using Omniscope’s working copy mechanism.

This approach protects the viewer experience and gives organisations greater control over testing and releases. Enterprise customers can also add a Sandbox licence for development, security validation and user acceptance testing before changes reach production.

Security, authentication and user permissions

Omniscope provides centralised authentication and permissions for controlling who can access projects, reports and data—and what each user is allowed to do.

User groups can control:

• Access to specific files and folders

• Report, workflow and data-editing permissions

• Data refresh, export and publishing permissions

• Administrative and API access

• The subset of data visible to each user

For example, a regional sales representative could see only their territory’s results, while management and analytics teams could access the complete dataset and edit the underlying reports.

Business supports governed access for Editors and Report Viewers. Enterprise extends this further with multi-tenant reporting, enabling a single report to deliver securely personalised data and content to different clients, departments or user groups.
